When something goes wrong with a tooth, like sudden pain, a break, a lost filling, or swelling that won’t go down, you need to reach someone who can actually help. At most practices, an after-hours call goes to voicemail. Here, it reaches the staff.
Same-Day Emergency Dental Care
We hold space in the schedule for patients who need to be seen the same day.
When to Call Us
Some dental situations can wait for a scheduled visit. These can't:
Severe or sudden tooth pain that isn't improving
A knocked-out or broken tooth
A cracked tooth with pain or sensitivity
A lost filling or crown exposing the tooth
Swelling in your face, gums, or jaw
A dental abscess or signs of infection, like fever, swelling, or pain that’s spreading
Bleeding in the mouth that won’t stop
A mouth or tooth injury from an accident or fall
Go to the ER first if: swelling makes it hard to breathe or swallow, swelling is spreading toward your eye or down your neck, you have a high fever along with facial swelling, or you have uncontrolled bleeding from an injury. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room, then call us for dental follow-up.
Emergency Treatments We Provide
Emergency exams and digital X-rays
Tooth extractions, removals, wound treatments
Treatment of dental abscesses and infections
Crown and filling replacement
Repair of broken or chipped teeth

What Happens at Your Emergency Visit
We find out what’s wrong. Our doctor and staff take digital X-rays, photos, and tells you exactly what’s going on and what your options are.
We treat the pain first. Getting you comfortable is the immediate priority. We’ll handle whatever we can in the same visit, whether that’s a temporary fix or the permanent one.
We solve the problem and give you a plan to move forward. If you need follow-up treatment, you’ll walk out with a specific plan and a scheduled appointment, not a referral to figure out on your own.
FAQ
How do I reach Georgetown Dental Group for a dental emergency?
Call or text (737) 775-4470. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, and (if possible) Saturdays and Sundays.
Do you see dental emergencies on Saturdays and Sundays?
Yes. Give our office a call/text and we will do what we can to see you as promptly as possible.
When should you call 911 or go to the emergency room?
If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling spreading toward your eye or neck, go to the nearest emergency room first.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe pain, swelling, bleeding, an injury, or a lost filling or crown that leaves a tooth exposed. If you’re not sure, call or text us and we’ll help you decide whether to come in right away or wait for a regular visit.
Can I walk in without an appointment?
Please call or text first if you can. It lets us get ready for you and cuts down your wait. Same-day appointments are almost always available during office hours.
Will my insurance cover an emergency visit?
Most dental plans cover emergency exams and some emergency treatment. We work with Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more, and Kelsey, our patient coordinator, will check your benefits when you call.
